I Plan To Enjoy The Holidays

Hi friends! I’m so excited that you are all interested in the Be Nice Box Giveaway!!!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the craziness of the holiday season. To spend too much money (Gosh, I am so guilty of this) on presents. To get worried about what you’re going to eat at the holiday parties, and how you’re going to stay within your calorie limit for the day.

Enough.

We get so caught up in these things, that we forgot what the holidays are supposed to be about. Regardless of what you believe in, they’re supposed to be about love. That giving is better than receiving. Appreciating your family and your loved ones.

NOT about: What time stores can open on Thanksgiving DAY to allow people to shop.

NOT about: How much money you spend on presents, but rather how much thought and love are put into them.

NOT about: How many calories are in that cookie. Enjoy the damn cookie.

Simply typing in “Holiday Weight Gain” on Pinterest gives you pictures and links to A LOT of sites telling you how to avoid it. But where are the posts about enjoying it? (I know there out there, I’ve read them, and I love them!!) Why is the overwhelming amount of information out there about how to avoid the weight gain instead of enjoying the holidays?

I probably should care more about the calories in things this Christmas, but I’m not going to. I’m at my heaviest I’ve ever been, and I’m going to deal with that. AFTER the holidays. Will I still be running and working out? I hope so, but it’s not going to be my number one priority. No one looks back at the holiday season and says, “Oh, I wish I would have spent 10 more minutes at the gym.”

Operation Beautiful notes I put out today for our #Elf4Health challenge. So necessary this time of year.

I have my work Christmas party tonight, and I look forward to it every year. We have a delicious dinner, and I love spending time with my coworkers, and their spouses and significant others.

Would it be easy to get caught up in the fact that I don’t have a date with me? Of course! Would it be easy to get stressed about what I kind find healthy on the menu, and skipping dessert? Of course. BUT, that’s not with it’s supposed to be out! I want to enjoy my time at holiday parties and functions and not be stressed out about calories.

My mom makes cookies that I love for Christmas. I plan to enjoy them, and not feel an ounce of guilt for doing so.

After all, the holidays are meant to be enjoyed, not stressed about.

Happy Holidays, you all!!! You’re all beautiful and I love you! xoxo
